Assam CEE Eligibility Criteria 2017 has been announced by Dibrugarh University for candidates appearing in Assam CEE 2017 along with the admission notification on April 20. Assam CEE 2017 eligibility criteria specifies complete details of academic qualifications, age limit and other criteria for all candidates appearing in Assam CEE 2017. Candidates will be required to prove their eligibility during the counseling and admission process. Documents that will be verified will include the Class X and XII marks sheets as well as certificates. Candidates belonging to the reserved category will have to submit document in lieu of the same. The Assam CEE is the common entrance exam for admissions to the engineering courses offered at the undergraduate level in the state of Assam. The Assam CEE 2017 eligibility criteria comprise of academic and age conditions that are required by applicants. Details of both can be checked below:
Eligibility parameters for Assam CEE along with details
Candidates must have passed 10+2 from the Assam Higher Secondary Board or an equivalent board in the country.
Pass percentage in Qualifying Exam
Applicants must have secured at least 50% aggregate in English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics
For SC candidates this is 45% while it is 40% for ST category candidates.
Applicants must not be less than 17 years or more than 21 years as on August 1, 2017.
The age limit for applicants, who have passed B.Sc., is 22 years.
Age relaxation for SC/ST category applicants is three years.
Candidates must be Indian citizens
Applicant must be a domicile of Assam.
Exemption from Assam CEE 2017 Exam
The following categories of candidates are exempted from appearing in the entrance exam
1. Candidates who have been nominated by their respective governments against reserved seats allotted by Govt. of India for other States, Union Territories and Foreign Countries provided they satisfy the Assam CEE 2017 eligibility criteria prescribed above.
2. The First Rank holder(s) in the Higher Secondary (Science) Examination of the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council are eligible for direct admissions provided
They obtain not less 85 % marks in aggregate in the year which they seek admission.
Such candidate must apply for Direct Admission within 10 days of publication of the result of their Qualifying Examination.
They must write to the Director of Technical Education, Assam, Kahilipara, Guwahati-19
Eligibility for Bonus Marks:
Candidates who are either son or daughter of the Grade- I, II, III & IV employees of the Department of Technical Education, Assam will be eligible for bonus marks @ 5%, 7.5% & 10% as per the Govt. order No. ETE.52/79/13 dated August 10, 1979. Such candidates must submit their Assam CEE Application Form 2017 at least 10 days before the entrance exam.
