CENTAC 2017 - Admission to first-year B.Tech courses offered by Government and Self-financing colleges in the U.T of Puducherry will be conducted by the Centralised Admission Committee (CENTAC). Application form for CENTAC 2017 is now available online from May 15, 2017 and has to be filled and submitted till May 30. For students belonging to Puducherry, admission to various B.Tech courses offered by CENTAC 2017 will be based on scores of Class 12 or any equivalent exam, while candidates of other states and UTs will be selected based on their JEE Main 2017 scores. There is no separate entrance exam that students need to appear for admission to B. Tech courses offered by CENTAC 2017. The online application form for CENTAC 2017 is now available from May 15, 2017 onwards. Applicants can also fill and submit the application form of CENTAC 2017 till May 30. When filling the application form, the applicant must take care to enter only genuine information, because sharing wrong information will lead to rejection of the application. Also, you must fill in all the required fields. After filling the application form, the applicant needs to take a printout of their online entry and fee payment receipts, and submit it in person or by post at the CENTAC Office, along with all the necessary self-attested copies of certificates.

CENTAC Eligibility Criteria 2017
Candidates applying for CENTAC 2017 must fulfill the following eligibility criteria to be considered for CENTAC 2017 Admissions.
Educational Qualification: Candidates need to have passed H.Sc (Academic) examination conducted by Tamil Nadu Board or any equivalent exam with minimum 45% aggregate marks ( 40% in case of candidates belonging to OBC/BCM/MBC/EBC/BT/SC categories) in the prescribed subjects: Mathematics, Physics, and any of Chemistry/Bio-Technology/Computer Science/ Biology (Botany & Zoology)
Age Limit: The upper age limit is 21 years as on 1st July 2017. This limit is relaxable by up to three years for SC candidates.
Nationality: In addition to Indian nationals, French nationals residing in the UT of Puducherry and conforming to the Treaty of Cession can take CENTAC 2017.
Candidates belonging to the U.T of Puducherry will be admitted based on scores of Class 12 or any equivalent exam, but admission of candidates from other states and UTs will be based on their JEE Main 2017 scores.
Appearances in Qualifying Examination:
All Category candidates can appear in the qualifying exam a maximum of 2 times, while SC candidates can have 3 appearances in the qualifying exam.

CENTAC Merit List 2017
A merit list will be prepared by the authorities on the basis of the class XII marks of the candidates who belong to Puducherry and Tamilnadu. For candidates from other states, a separate merit list will be prepared on the basis of their JEE Main scores. The counseling and seat allotment will be on the basis of the merit list of CENTAC 2017. The merit list will be prepared after normalization of the class XII marks or JEE Main scores as the case may be.
CENTAC Counselling 2017
Admission to all B.Tech courses will be based on the Merit List drawn up by CENTAC, prepared by normalizing marks obtained by candidates in their H.Sc (Academic) or equivalent exam. Normalization is done to account for difference in scoring pattern and difficulty level of different Boards. To participate in the counseling round, the candidate has to deposit a fee of Rs. 750 (Rs, 350 for SC/BT), which is refundable in case the candidate doesn’t get selected in the first round. However for each subsequent round, a non-refundable fee of Rs. 750 (Rs, 350 for SC/BT) will be collected from every student. The fee for CENTAC Counselling 2017 has to be paid in the form of a “Demand Draft” drawn in favour of “The Convenor, CENTAC,” payable at Puducherry.
From the academic year 2017-18, CENTAC has started Choice Based Seat Allocation. Candidates will be informed about the counselling dates through SMS, E-mail, & and online on the official CENTAC counselling portal.
They have to log in to counselling portal of CENTAC 2017 by paying the admission processing fees through online payment (Credit cards/Debit cards/NEFT). Then they must enter their options (unlimited options are provided) for the courses and college as per their desire.
CENTAC will publish the selection list a week after the selection online. This will be the provisional list and candidates have to download it. They will also be informed about it through through SMS/Email.
After downloading CENTAC 2017 Provisional Allotment Order, they are required to report to the allotted colleges within the time frame. If the candidate does not report within the given time, provisional allotment will be cancelled automatically.
The same process will be applied for the Second and Third round of counselling.
