Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GUJCET)


GUJCET 2017GUJCET 2017 - The Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC) has announced that Gujarat will be conducting an entrance examination for admissions into the B.Tech and B.E courses offered by the various engineering institutes of the state. As per a latest notification by the exam conducting authority, the examination date of GUJCET 2017 has been preponed by a day. According to the revised date, GUJCET 2017 will be conducted on May 10 now. The paper for Physics and Chemistry will be held from 10 am to 12 pm, Biology from 1 pm to 2 pm and Mathematics from 3 pm to 4 pm. Earlier, the entrance examination - GUJCET 2017 was scheduled to be held on May 11, 2017. The exam will be held for a duration of 3 hours. Admissions will be granted on the basis of the merit list composed of 60% weightage on marks obtained in 10+2 standard qualifying examinations and 40% weightage on marks obtained in GUJCET 2017. The application form of GUJCET 2017 is now over, which was available till April 16,  2017. A notification, which was released on December 1, 2016 stated that GUJCET 2017 will now be the gateway to admission into all engineering courses in Government, Grant in aid and self-financed institutes in the state for Government quota seats and Management quota. Latest: GUJCET 2017 rescheduled for May 10


The admission process for GUJCET 2017 will be conducted online by the Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC). In order to guide the aspiring candidates and their parents properly and to provide the relevant information for online admission process, ACPC has organised various Awareness Seminars as per the following schedule. The awareness seminars to educate the candidates and their parents about the counselling and admission procedure has started from April 3 and will close on May 21, 2017. The awareness seminars are being held across different towns and cities in Gujarat.

In case of Special provisions in certain Institutes/Universities, 50% of the seats in Degree Engineering will be filled through the GUJCET 2017 result after the merit list is calculated. The remaining 50% seats, which are to be filled under All India basis will be done through the results of JEE Main 2017. It is also to be noted that the applicants who wish to get admission into the centrally funded institutes such as IITs, NITs, IIITs and other such institutes of the state will have to qualify JEE Main 2017 examination.

GUJCET Eligibility Criteria 2017


The applicants will be required to meet some eligibility criteria while applying for admissions under GUJCET 2017. Qualifications related to the age, education and more of the applicant has to be satisfied otherwise he/she will be disqualified from the admission process.

  • Nationality: The applicant should be of Indian nationality.

  • Domicile: Should be a bonafide resident of Gujarat. Even those applicants who are bonafide residents of Gujarat but are residing in other states of the country, defense/central Government applicants are also eligible to apply for GUJCET 2017.

  • Academic Qualifications: The applicants should have qualified their 10+2 examination from the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board, Gandhinagar/CBSE, Delhi/CISCE, New Delhi/NIOS/International School Board. If the applicants will complete their 10+2 examination in 2017, then these applicants are also eligible to apply.

  • Required Marks: To be eligible for admissions, the applicants will have to score a minimum of 45% marks in the qualifying examination. Reserved category applicants will have to secure 40% marks.

GUJCET Application Form 2017


GUJCET 2017 application form opened on March 30, 2017. Candidates were required to pay Rs 300 as application fee via DD and submit it at the designated help centres to get their USER ID . They had to use this to register and fill their GUJCET online Application Form. All applicants who wish to pursue education in the engineering institutes under GUJCET 2017 were required to fill and submit the application form. Failure to submit the application form within the specified time would lead to the disqualification of the applicant from the admission procedure. The last date to fill the online application form was April 16, 2017. The applicants had to first register themselves. After registering themselves, the applicants had to enter their personal, academic and contact information. The exam centre was to be selected by the applicants. Uploading of their scanned photograph and signature also had to be done properly. Print out of the application form has to be taken. The applicants who reside outside Gujarat and have completed their 10+2 examination from outside the state had to submit the filled application form print out with the following documents at the given address:

GUJCET Exam Pattern 2017


GUJCET 2017 has been reintroduced by ACPC as the entrance examination for admissions into the engineering institutes of Gujarat. The examination will be 3 hours long and will be held in three languages – English, Hindi and Gujarati. The applicants can check the exam pattern of the GUJCET 2017 in the table below.

GUJCET Syllabus 2017


The examination of GUJCET 2017 will consist of three subjects – Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry. The admission committee has suggested that the applicants study the basics of 10+2 (or equivalent) examination for the preparation of the entrance examination. The syllabus will be updated soon by the admission committee. The applicants can check GUJCET Syllabus 2017 for all updates.


GUJCET Admit Card 2017


GUJCET 2017 Admit card will be released by the admission committee tentatively in May 2017. The mode of access for the admit card is expected to be online. All information regarding the examination day i.e., exam centre, date, timings and more will be written in the admit card of GUJCET 2017. It is important for all applicants to keep the admit card with them safely and produce it during the examination. Failure to show the admit card during the exam day will lead to the disqualification of the applicant.


GUJCET Result 2017


The admission committee will be releasing the result of GUJCET 2017 in online mode. The result will consist of the scores of the applicants along with their names and roll numbers. The applicants will have to log in with their credentials and access their result which will be released tentatively in May 2017.

GUJCET Merit List 2017


The merit list of GUJCET 2017 will be released tentatively in the month of May 2017. The admission committee will prepare the merit list based on 60 percentile weightage over the applicant’s score in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in 10+2 (or equivalent) examination and 40 percentile weightage over GUJCET 2017 examination. Based on their merit, the applicants will be ranked in the merit list. Allotment of seats will be done on the basis of their rankings in the merit list.

GUJCET Counselling 2017 


All selected applicants, whose names have been listed in the merit list will have to register themselves online for the counselling session. The admission committee will be conducting the counselling session in online mode. The applicants will be required to select their preference of colleges and courses online. The allotment of seats will be done on the basis of the merit, category of the applicant and availability of seats during counselling. After the applicants are successfully allotted, the allotment list will be published online. The applicants will have to print out the information letter. The tuition fees will have to be paid by the applicants to confirm the allotment.  After being successfully allotted, the applicants will have to submit the self attested copies of the following documents along with the print out of the registration form at the Help Centre:

  • 10th Standard Mark Sheet

  • 12th Standard Mark Sheet

  • GUJCET 2017 Result

  • School Leaving or Transfer Certificate

  • Category Certificate (if applicable)

  • Certificate of Income issued by the authority empowered by the State of Government in this behalf.

  • Photograph of the applicant for other State/other than Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary School Examination Board

  • Other certificates as the admission committee deems necessary.
