HPCET 2017 - Himachal Pradesh Technical University (HIMTU) will be the conducting body for HPCET 2017. The state level engineering entrance test, HPCET 2017 will be conducted on May 13, 2017 for admissions to undergraduate engineering programmes across the participating institutes of the exam. HPCET 2017 will be conducted in offline (Pen & Paper based) mode, while the application form for the exam will be available from March 2, 2017. HIMTU releases the application form of HPCET 2017 in online mode. The deadline for HPCET 2017 application form is on April 29, 2017. Admissions to undergraduate engineering programmes across the participating institutes of HPCET 2017 will be offered basis the merit/ranks of candidates in JEE Main 2017 and HPCET 2017. JEE Main 2017 candidates will be given preference and when the merit list of the national level engineering entrance test (JEE Main 2017) is exhausted, candidates will be offered admissions to B.Tech programmes on the basis of merit/rank list of HPCET 2017. Salient features of HPCET 2017
HPCET 2017 will be an offline entrance test for undergraduate engineering programmes.
Approximately 18 participating institutes of HPCET 2017 will offer admissions to as many as 10 B.Tech disciples through the entrance test and JEE Main 2017.
The application form, admit card and result of HPCET 2017 will be available in online mode.
No candidate will be allowed to enter the exam centre without a valid admit card of HPCET 2017.
The entrance exam – HPCET 2017 will be conducted in offline (Pen & Paper) mode.
Admissions to undergraduate engineering programmes will be offered on the basis of rank/merit list of JEE Main 2017 and HPCET 2017. First 50% seats across the participating institutes will be allotted to JEE Main 2017 qualifiers, while the remaining seats will be offered to the candidates qualifying in HPCET 2017.

HPCET Eligibility Criteria 2017
HPCET 2017 Eligibility Criteria is a set of conditions required by HIMTU in order to consider aspiring candidates eligible for appearing in the entrance test for admissions to the participating institutes of HPCET 2017. All aspiring candidates must fulfil the eligibility criteria as per the norms of AICTE for appearing in HPCET 2017. It’s important that all aspirants meet the eligibility criteria of HPCET 2017 before they start filling the application form for the entrance exam.
Aspirants of HPCET 2017 must have passed XII/10+2 or equivalent exam from a recognised board/university with at least 45% aggregate marks for general category candidates and at least 40% marks for reserved category candidates.
The candidates need to have studied Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects in class 12th along with one of the Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Technical Vocational subjects.

HPCET Application Form 2017
HPCET 2017 Application Form will be available in online mode only. HPCET application form 2017 will be made available by HIMTU from March 2, 2017. All candidates, applying for HPCET 2017 must ensure that they fulfil the eligibility criteria of HPCET and fill the application form before the deadline. Last date to apply for HPTU 2017 is April 29. Each of the 3 sections will have same weightage of 50 questions each.

HPCET Admit Card 2017
HPCET 2017 Admit Card will be made available online by Himachal Pradesh Technical University, tentatively in the first week of May 2017. The admit card of HPCET is an important document and candidates must download and take a printout of HPCET 2017 hall ticket or admit card and carry it to the exam centre. No candidate will be permitted to enter the examination hall without the possession of a valid hall ticket.

Note: All applicants must cross-check all particulars on the e-admit card of HPCET and ensure that all details are correct to the best of their knowledge. In case any discrepancy occurs in the admit card, it must be brought to the notice of Controller of Examinations, H.P. Technical University, Gandhi Chowk, Hamirpur-177001 (H.P.) at the earliest.
HPCET Answer key 2017
HPCET 2017 Answer Key will be available after the entrance exam gets over. Through HPCET 2017 answer key, the examinees can cross-check the responses they have marked against the questions in the test and figure out their probable score. If the test takers find any discrepancy in the official answer key of HPCET 2017, they can raise their complaints in written and send it to office of the Controller of Examination, H.P. Technical University, Gandhi Chowk, Hamirpur-177001 (H.P.) along with the supporting documents/solution pertaining to question papers/answer keys.
Note: Complaints against the answer key of HPCET 2017 must be sent within two days of conducting of HPCET 2017 exam.
HPCET Result 2017
HPCET 2017 Result will be announced online by the university for candidates who appear in the entrance test. The result of HPCET 2017 will also be available on the notice board of the university.
HPCET Rank/Merit List 2017
HIMTU will prepare a rank list/merit list for candidates who successfully take HPCET 2017. The merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks secured by the test takers in HPCET 2017. HPCET 2017 merit list will be available online as well as on the notice board of the university. However, just appearing in the merit list of HPCET 2017 doesn’t confirm admission of any candidate. They have to satisfy the eligibility criteria and the availability of seats in counselling and admission process.
HPCET Counselling 2017
HPCET 2017 Counselling will be done for admissions of candidates who qualify JEE Main 2017 and HPCET 2017. For counselling, the candidates have to register themselves and pay the registration fee online via credit card/net banking/debit card.
First 50% seats will be allotted to JEE Main 2017 qualifiers through the counselling of HPCET 2017, while the remaining seats will be offered through HPCET 2017 counselling to candidates who qualify HPCET 2017.
In case vacant seats are left even after the counselling for JEE Main 2017 and HPCET 2017, then the seats will be allotted to candidates on the basis of their merit in 10+2.
Candidates, who are allotted seats, must pay the admission fee or else the next candidate in sequence of merit ranking will be given that seat.
