Entrepreneurship Cell of Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur conducted Global Entrepreneurship Summit 2017 from February 3 to 5, 2017. The event was a platform for entrepreneurs, business personalities, venture capitalists and students to present their entrepreneurial endeavors and experiences.
The summit featured Guest lectures, Workshops, Panel Discussions, Product Expo, Connect the Dots conference and a Global Entrepreneurship Conference which had participation from various international universities. The guest list included people like Mr. Jayesh Parekh, Co-founder, Sony Entertainment Television, Mr. Punit Soni (CEO and Founder, Learning Motors), Mr. Samik Roy (Country Head, Microsoft Dynamics Business) and Mr. Faisal Siddiqui (President of South Asia and India, HTC).
Global Entrepreneurship Conference, served as a conclave for discussion of opportunities and programmes steered towards popularising entrepreneurship across the world. The conference was followed by Connect the Dots, a discussion amongst the Entrepreneurship Cells in India about the Indian scenario and how best to go about promoting entrepreneurship in their respective campuses.
The Global Business Model competition, Empresario, was the first ever business model competition in India. The finals were part of the Global Entrepreneurship Summit wherein the winners would get direct entry in the semi-finals of the International Business Model Competition.
Start-up Camp aimed to help Start-ups to recruit the finest talent amongst GES participants for internships/jobs while giving them an opportunity to meet the VC and Angel Investors in India present on campus.
