VIT Pune: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Vishwakarma Institute of Technology (VIT), Pune was established in the year 1983. VIT Pune is affiliated to the Savitribai Phule Pune University. The institute is approved by AICTE. With a CGPA of 3.14, VIT Pune has been accredited by NAAC with an ‘A++’ grade. A total of 19 courses are offered by the institute and admission to these courses is done on the basis of different national level examinations. The institute also has provision for scholarships and provides a long list of facilities to its students as well. VIT Pune has been ranked 142 in the NIRF Ranking 2022 among engineering institutions.

VIT Pune offers 9 undergraduate, 6 postgraduate and 4 doctoral courses. The VIT Pune course list includes B.Tech, M.Tech, M.C.A and Ph.D courses in multiple specialisations. The duration of VIT Pune B.Tech course is 4 years, M.Tech and M.C.A course is 2 years and Ph.D course is 6 years. All these courses are offered in full-time mode only. VIT Pune Admissions

Candidates seeking admission in any of the courses offered by VIT Pune must apply  by filling the online application form from the official website of the institute.  For VIT Pune admission to undergraduate courses, candidates need to appear for MHT CET or JEE Main. A candidate must have a valid score in the GATE to take admission in the M.Tech programme M.C.A, candidates must appear for MAH MCA CET. VIT Pune admission to PhD courses is offered on the basis of marks obtained by candidates in PET and candidates' performance in the personal interview.

VIT Pune Scholarships

The institute offers multiple scholarships to its students which are sponsored by bodies like the State Govt., Central Govt., Pune Corporation, and other bodies. Students must meet the eligibility criteria for the scholarship they wish to avail and fill the application form from the official website of these bodies. Some of the VIT Pune scholarships are Post Matric Scholarship to SBC Students, Dr. Punjabrao Deshmukh Vasatigruh Nirvah Bhatta Yojna, Bharat Ratna Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Yojana, and others.

Vishwakarma Institute of Technology Cut off

VIT Pune cut off is the closing ranks of entrance exams undertaken by candidates. To take admission in the desired course candidates need to meet the Vishwakarma Institute of Technology cutoff. JEE Main/MHA CET cut-off is released for B.Tech admission and GATE  and MAH MCA CET cut-off is released for M,Tech and M.C.A admissions, respectively. The institute cutoff is released by the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test Cell, Government of Maharashtra. VIT Pune cutoff is released in multiple rounds in online mode.

VIT Pune Placements

The college has a dedicated placement department for conducting placements. The VIT Pune placement department is called the Placement Office. The placement office also supports students by conducting placement related workshops and seminars. The Office not only coordinates the dates and events with the companies but also grooms students for the final round of interviews. Apart from final-year placements, the VIT Pune Placement Office also provides internship opportunities to pre-final year students.

VIT Pune Facilities

Vishwakarma Institute of Technology facilities offer a comfortable environment to the students. The college has a well-stocked central library, canteen which offers hygienic food at reasonable prices, wifi and auditorium where numerous academic and cultural events are held. VIT Pune also has hostel facilities for outstation boys and girls students. Each department of the college has a lab. The institute has a bank and ATM inside the campus only. There are sports facilities with a playground that is used for various sports like cricket, football, athletics.
