JEE Advanced 2015

JEE Advanced 2015 is the second stage of the Joint Entrance Examination and the common entrance examination for engineering admissions to the IITs and ISM, Dhanbad. Only candidates, who clear the JEE Main 2015, are eligible to appear for JEE Advanced 2015. From 2015 onwards, 20 IITs will grant admissions to the qualifying candidates (16 IITs in 2014). JEE Advanced 2015 Eligibility Criteria:

  • Candidates must qualify in the JEE main and be one of the top 1, 50,000 candidates to appear for the JEE Advanced 2015

  • Age Limit: Candidates must be born on or after October 1, 1990 (SC/ST/PwD candidates must be bron on or after October 1, 1985)

JEE Advanced 2015 Selection Procedure:  

Candidates shall fulfill any one of the following criteria-

  • He/she shall be within the category-wise top 20 percentile of successful candidates in his/her respective Class XII (or equivalent) board examination.

  •  He/she shall secur 75% (for GEN or OBC-NCL) or 70% (SC, ST or PwD) of aggregate marks in the Class XII (or equivalent) board examination.

JEE Advanced 2015 Application Form :

  • Candidates have to register online.

  • After online registration, candidates must pay the examination fee as applicable through challan (generated during registration process) of all SBI branches having core banking solution (CBS)

JEE Advanced 2015 Application Fees:

  • The examination fee for GE and OBC(NCL) male candidates is Rs.2000.

  • The fee for SC, ST, PD male candidates is Rs. 1000.

  • There is no fee for female candidates of all categories.

  • Candidates appearing from Dubai Centre will have to pay US $ 220.

JEE Advanced 2015 Counselling Process

  • The seats in the various courses of the institutes (IITs and ISM Dhanbad) will be allotted strictly on the basis of the All India Rank of JEE Advanced 2015, category rank, and the choices indicated by each qualified candidate at the time of counselling. 

  • Other institutes also use the results of JEE (Advanced) - 2015 for admissions to their courses / programmes. The names of the institutes will be announced later. Candidates should contact these institutes directly for admission.

Rankers of last year's JEE Advanced exam:


Chitraang Murdia was the topper of JEE Advanced 2014 who belonged to Rajasthan under IIT Delhi zone. He secured 334 out of a total of 360 marks.
Aditi from IIT Roorkee zone was the topper amongst female candidates securing an All India Rank of of 7.


There were five female candidates amongst the top 100 rankers.


Last year's JEE Advanced Statistics: 
A total of 27,151 candidates out of 1,26,997 qualified the examination with 19,416 in common merit list:

  • 6000 in OBC (NCL),

  • 4400 SC

  • 1250 ST 

  • 243  PwD candidates

JEE Advanced 2014 Vs 2013:

  • When compared to 2013, 3500 more candidates qualified in JEE Advanced 2014 with an increase of qualified candidates in all categories.

  • The joint  implementation committee of JEE Advanced 2014 decided to allow twice the number in each category to fill choices for various undergraduate courses in IITs and ISM Dhanbad.

  • About 19,000 candidates were shortlisted.

The top 1,50,000 qualified students of JEE main 2015 are shortlisted to appear for the JEE Advanced 2015 on May 24. Admissions to 20 IITs will be based only on category-wise All India Rank (AIR) in JEE-Advanced 2015.
