TMISAT 2017TMISAT 2017 - Tolani Maritime Institute Science Aptitude Test (TMISAT), a university level entrance examination will be conducted by Tolani Maritime Institute (TMI), for admissions to B.Tech Programmes in Marine Engineering and Nautical Technology. TMI is affiliated to Indian Maritime Institute (IMU). Before applying for TMISAT 2017, candidates need to fill the application form of IMUCET 2017, conducted by the IMU. The IMUCET Application Number will be required while filling the TMISAT 2017 application form. The online TMISAT Application Form 2017 has been released on January 5, 2017 by TMI. The last date to submit the filled in application form for TMISAT at their national centres is scheduled to be on April 25, 2017. The deadline to send the application form of TMISAT 2017 at Induri in Pune is May 31, 2017. Admissions are also offered through the scores/ranks obtained in IMUCET (Indian Marine University Common Entrance Test) 2017. Applicants need to register themselves online and later complete filling & submitting the application form as specified. TMISAT 2017 is an online test which will be conducted for total time duration of 1 hour. The entrance exam will have questions from Physics and Chemistry from the syllabus studied in class X and XII. TMISAT Eligibility Criteria 2017

  • Age Criteria - Applicants must be a maximum of 21 years of age, as on September 1, 2017. 2 years age relaxation (maximum age criteria of 22 years) is applicable for female candidates. A minimum age of 17 years is required to be eligible for admissions.

  • Educational Background & Marks Obtained - Applicants must have secured minimum aggregate marks of 60% in class XII, taking marks scored in subject which are Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics together.

  • Only unmarried candidates will be considered.

  • Miscellaneous - Those candidates who have appeared in Class XII in 2017, apart from this, the result has not been declared for the same, are also considered eligible to appear in TMISAT 2017.

  • Education from Other Board of Examination - The applicants who have appeared in International Board need to submit an “Equivalence Certificate’ from Association of Indian University along with relevant documents as mentioned below, while submitting the filled-in application form.

TMISAT Application Form 2017


The TMISAT Application form is online only. Candidates must fill the form, take a printout and submit it along with the specified documents to the institute. The last date to fill the application form is May 31, 2017. Check the steps to fill the TMISAT Application Form 2017 below.

Step 3: Upload Photograph

Applicants are required to upload their passport size photographs to complete TMISAT 2017 application form filling process.

Step 5: Send Form and Documents to Institute

After completing the application process of TMISAT 2017, the applicants are required to send the following documents to the institute


Checklist of Documents to be sent to TMI:

  • TMISAT 2017 Application Form Printout

  • Printout of Summary Generated after submission of TMISAT Application

  • 2 recent Passport size photographs of candidates with Name and Application Form number written at backside

  • Attested Class X & XII marksheets  and Certificates

  • Bonafide Certificate in case of candidates who have not received their class XII marks sheet. The certificate must be attested by the head of the school or college last studied.

  • Attested Birth Certificate

  • If Class XII marks sheet are downloaded from internet, they must be attested by Principal of school

  • Sports and any other extra-curricular activities (from Std. VIII and above only) if applicable and available

How to Prepare for TMISAT 2017?


TMISAT 2017 Exam Pattern

  • TMISAT 2017 will carry a total number of 60 questions in the entrance examination, to be conducted in online mode.

  • The entrance examination will be held for time duration of 1 hour.

  • There will be negative marking for incorrect answer options for questions asked in Physics and Mathematics

  • The entrance exam also test applicants’ problem solving skills, reasoning skills, language skills, general knowledge, subject knowledge, and aptitude and personality traits.

TMISAT Exam Centres 2017


TMISAT 2017 will be conducted across 13 test centres in India. These 13 exam centres of TMISAT 2017 are the venues where the entrance exam will be conducted by TMI. The officials will send the admit card to the registered candidates. The applicants need to carry their valid admit card at the exam centre of TMISAT 2017. TMISAT Syllabus 2017


TMISAT 2017 syllabus covers up topic-wise subjects related to preparation of entrance examination. By referring the syllabus of TMISAT 2017, the candidates can prepare for TMISAT 2017 in an organized and effective manner. They must prepare taking reference of Class XII academic syllabus which must include subject-wise topics from Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics. TMISAT Admit Card 2017


TMISAT 2017 Admit Card will be released by TMI, tentatively in the last week of April 2017. The admit card will be made available online before the entrance examination. Applicants will be required to download the admit card by entering their registration number and email id/date of birth. The admit card of TMISAT 2017 is an important document to be carried at the test centres along with the candidates. TMISAT Admit Card 2017 carries details such as applicants’ name, roll number, date & time of entrance exam and venue of entrance exam.


TMISAT Result 2017


TMISAT Result will be declared tentatively in the second week of June 2017, where applicants can check the ranks/scores secured in the entrance exam. After the declaration of result by TMI, the applicants will appear in the medical test, which they need to clear to take admissions.


TMISAT Counselling 2017


After the declaration of the result, TMI will conduct TMISAT 2017 counselling for admissions to B.Tech Programmes in Marine Engineering and Nautical Technology. The process of counselling will be held offline, at the campus of TMI. The medical test is required to be done by a DGS and TMI approved doctor only. For the shortlisted names of doctors, a list will be released by TMI.

Q1 - When are the interviews conducted?

A1 - Normally, interviews are conducted on the same day as that of TMISAT and at the centre itself.


Q2 - Are CET / IIT JEE marks considered for admission?

A2 - No.


Q3 - Do I have to appear in IIT exam for admission in TMI?

A3 - No.


Q4 - When is the Medical Test conducted? Can I get it done from my local doctor?

A4 - The Medical Test is conducted after the online test and needs to be done by a DGS and TMI approved doctor only. The names and addresses of doctors will be given by the TMI office after you are shortlisted. It is preferable that candidates get their screening test done by any doctor, as per standards laid down, to avoid disappointment at a later stage.


Q5 - Is correction in eyesight by laser surgery allowed?

A5 - Yes, if it corrects your vision to 6/6 without glasses.
