WBJEE 2015 Eligibility Criteria specifies the academic requirements along with pass percentage and age limits for admissions to the engineering courses in West Bengal. Candidates must meet the Eligibility Criteria of WBJEE 2015 to be able to appear for the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination 2015. The Eligibility Criteria for WBJEE 2015 is specified below for the benefit of the WBJEE 2015 aspirants.

WBJEE 2015 Eligibility Criteria:

  • Candidates must be Indian Nationals

  • They must meet the Domicile Requirements as specified below

  • They must meet the academic Criteria as mentioned below

Note: Eligibility Crtieria differs for Jadavpur University and also for Maring Engineering courses.

 

WBJEE 2015 Eligibility Criteria for Engineering / Technology Courses (For Colleges/Institutes Other than Jadavpur University) :

  • Candidates must have passed the Higher Secondary Examination (10+2 level) or its equivalent examination with an aggregate of 45% (40% for SC/ST/PwD)

  • They must have studied Physics, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects with Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Technical Vocational Subjects (Engineering Drawing / Computer Science) as optional subjects.

  • They must have secured at least 30% marks in English (for all categories of candidates)

  • Candidates must also have individual pass marks in each of Physics,Mathematics, English as well as the optional subject chosen (Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Technical Vocational Subjects (Engineering Drawing / Computer Science))

  • Age Limit: Candidates must be at least 17 years of age as on December 31, 2015.


WBJEE 2015 Eligibility Criteria for Engineering / Technology Courses (For Jadavpur University) :

  • Candidates must have passed the Higher Secondary Examination (10+2 level) or its equivalent examination

  • They must have passed Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with an aggregate of 60% (55% for SC/ST/PwD)

  • They must have secured at least 30% marks in English (for all categories of candidates)

  • Candidates must also have individual pass marks in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English

  • Age Limit: Candidates must be at least 17 years of age as on December 31, 2015.

 

WBJEE 2015 Eligibility Criteria for Marine Engineering:

  • Candidates must have passed the Higher Secondary Examination (10+2 level) or its equivalent examination

  • They must have secured an aggregate of 60% in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (40% for SC/ST/PwD)

  • They must have secured at least 50% marks in English (for all categories of candidates)

  • Candidates must also have individual pass marks in each of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English and Vernacular (or any other fifth) subject

  • Age Limit: Candidates must be at least 17 years of age as on December 31, 2015. They must not be above 25 years of age as on 31 July, 2015.

 WBJEE 2015 Eligibility Criteria for candidates through JEE Main 2015:

  • Candidates can avail admissions in Private Self Financing Colleges through JEE Main 2015.

  • To apply they must qualify in JEE Main 2015.

  • 10% of setas will be available to candidates under the JEE Main 2015 Quota

  • The eligibility for candidates is the same as that of WBJEE 2015 as above.

  • Candidates under this category need not conform to the domicile requirements as stipulated

 

WBJEE 2015 Eligibility Criteria for Residential/Domicile purposes:

  • Candidates must have been residents of West Bengal for a consecutive period of 10 years as on December 31, 2014

    OR

  • The parents of the candidates must be permanent residents of West Bengal with a permanent West Bengal home address.


Requirement of Domicile Certificate
:

  • State-Aided Universities do not require a domicile certificate

  • Government Engg /Technical Colleges: Domicile Certificate is mandatory

  • Self Financed Institutes do not require a domicile certificate

  • Note: Domicile Certificate is mandatory for Reserved Category candidates.
