Galgotias College of Engineering and Technology Greater Noida was established by the  Smt. Shakuntla Educational and Welfare Society with Mr Suneel Galgotia as the founder chairman of the college. The college is approved by the AICTE, Ministry of HRD and Government of India. The college is affiliated to Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow. The college offers various courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. These courses include B.Tech, MBA and MCA courses. GCET Greater Noida admission to these courses is done on the basis of JEE-Mains entrance examination for B.Tech courses and CUET-PG entrance examination for MBA and MCA courses.

The college offers placement to its students in well-known companies. GCET Greater Noida median package recorded in the year 2021-22 is Rs 4,25,000. Many companies participated in GCET Greater Noida placement drive such as Infosys, Axis Bank, Airtel, Byjus and others. The college offers various facilities such as hostel facilities, sports facilities and transport facilities. The infrastructure of the college is beautiful and spacious and is spread across 19 acres of land. The infrastructure of the campus include seminar halls, conference halls, library, cafeteria and others. The college offers scholarships for students in need of financial support.
