Gokaraju Rangaraju Institute of Engineering and Technology popularly known as GRIET is located in Hyderabad. The college was established in 1997. GRIET was established by Dr G Gangaraju with the support of Gokaraju Rangaraju Educational Society. The name of the college has been kept on this basis only. Gokaraju Rangaraju Institute of Engineering and Technology is a self-financed institution. The college is permanently affiliated to and autonomous under JNTUH, Hyderabad. The institute has secured 165th rank in the Engineering category in NIRF 2021 Ranking with a score of 34.36 out of 100. It had secured 172nd rank in the same category in NIRF 2020 Ranking.  

GRIET offers both undergraduate and postgraduate courses to the students. There are nine undergraduate programmes in the field of B.Tech and nine post graduate programmes which are in the field of M.Tech.

GRIET is located at Nizampet Road, Krishnaja Hills, Bachupally, Kukatpally, Hyderabad, in Telangana. The distance between Hafizpet Railway Station and the college is around 7 km. Whereas the Airport is at a distance of 17 km from the college and the bus depot is 3 km away.

GRIET has various student clubs that help to enhance the skills of the students. Extracurricular activities are given due importance and the club serves this purpose. Being a part of the students club not only helps the students to enhance their skills but it also helps in the overall personality development of the students.

• Spices: It is a student’s club that is engaged in organising culinary events and encourages the interest of students in culinary activities.

• Women’s Development Cell: This is a cell that looks after the welfare of the women present in the college, and creates equal opportunities for them and empowers them.

• Robotics Club: The aim of the robotics club is to provide the students with the knowledge of robotics. The robotics club regularly conducts various workshops and courses throughout the year in order to help the students learn more about robotics. 

• Anti-Sexual Harassment Cell: This Cell of the GRIET creates an environment against gender bias and takes all possible measures to prevent sexual harassment against women.

• Technology and Innovation Cell: The technology and innovation cell works in order to promote Industry-Institute interaction. This cell provides industries with cost-effective solutions.

• National Service Scheme (NSS): NSS creates social awareness and imparts human values in students and creates a spirit of social service amongst them.

• Spiral: This is the Literature Club of the institution that focuses on the overall development of the student by conducting events such as elocution, essay writing.

GRIET has a well established infrastructure which has a lot to offer to its students. Facilities like library, transportation, computer labs, sports facility, so on and so forth are provided by the college.

• Access for Differently Abled: Gokaraju Rangaraju Institute of Engineering and Technology ensures the college infrastructure to be disabled-friendly. Not only that, they provide special facilities to the differently-abled for their ease and convenience.

GRIET Fee

The admission fee for all the courses is paid either through a demand draft, online mode or NEFT/RTGS in favour of GRIET. The average fee for B.Tech programme Rs. 4.72 lakhs. The average fee to be paid for the MBA programme is Rs. 2.37 lakhs whereas the total fee for the MCA programme is Rs. 2.37 lakhs.

Admission to undergraduate and postgraduate courses offered by GRIET is done through marks scored in EAMCET (UG) and PGECET (PG) Scores. Students have to both apply and appear in entrance examination. Step by step process for admission in GRIET is mentioned below:

Admission to B.Tech

• Students have to appear in the EAMCET examination.

• Students are required to qualify the EAMCET examination.

• According to the marks scored by the students a merit list is prepared by GRIET.

• In the next step, the students have to register for the EAMCET counselling.

• Participating in the EAMCET counselling is important for choice filling, seat locking and seat allotment.

• The final admission in the desired course will be based on the merit of EAMCET, participation in the counselling process, document verification as well as the fee payment.

Admission to M.Tech

• Students must score minimum 50 per cent marks in their graduation degree.

• Students have to appear in the PGECET or GATE examination.

• Students are required to qualify the PGECET examination.

• According to the marks scored by the students a merit list is prepared by GRIET.

• In the next step, the students have to register for the PGECET counselling.

• Participating in the PGECET counselling is important for choice filling, seat locking and seat allotment.

• The final admission in the desired course will be based on the merit of PGECET, participation in the counselling process, document verification as well as the fee payment.

GRIET Scholarship

Gokaraju Rangaraju Institute of Engineering and Technology provides scholarships to the students enrolling themselves in B.Tech programmes. The criteria for obtaining a scholarship is based on the rank acquired by the student in the EAMCET entrance examination.

However, students pursuing M.Tech are not offered any scholarship as of now.

GRIET Cutoff

The cut off for GRIET is released every year for admission to the B.Tech programme. The cutoff is based on the marks obtained by the students in the EAMCET exam. Several factors affect the cut off of GRIET. The reasons for the 2020 Cutoff are listed below:

Gokaraju Rangaraju Institute of Engineering and Technology Placement 

GRIET has released its placement data for the year 2019. Candidates belonging to various courses participated in the placement drive. Several companies leading in different sectors visit the college for conducting the placement drive. 

Step 1: Invitation- The college’s placement cell sends invitation to prospective recruiters. This is done to invite them in order to conduct a placement drive.

Step 2: Placement Drive Day- The recruiters that accept the invite select a day on which they would like to visit the campus and conduct all the placement processes.

Step 3: Pre-placement Talk: On the day when the recruiters arrive they give the students a brief pre-placement talk. This is done in order to make the students aware of the company's requirements and what they have to offer in return.

Step 4: Tests and Interviews: The students who enrolled for the placement drive need to qualify the tests, GDs as well as interview rounds in order to be placed.
