CUSAT M.Tech Admission Application Details

What to keep ready before filling CUSAT M.Tech Application Form?

Photograph:

  • A recent colour photograph with a size of 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm.

  • The name of the candidates and date (when the photo was clicked) must be printed at the bottom of the photograph in black letters with a white background

  • The scanned image must have dimensions of 132 pixels width and 170 pixels height.

  • The file must be in JPG format and should be between 4 kb and 100 KB.

Signature guidelines for CUSAT M.Tech Application Form:

  • Candidates must sign in Black ink on a white piece of paper in a box of size 3.5 cm x 1.5 cm.

  • The scanned image must be with dimensions 132 x 57 pixels

  • The scanned file should be in JPG format with a size between 1 KB and 30 KB.

CUSAT M.Tech Application Procedure:

1. Registration:

  • Candidates must enter their name (as in class X certificate), date of birth, age, e-mail ID and mobile phone number to register.

  • They must also choose a user name for their login and a security question from the given list to enable retrieval in case they forget their login credentials.

  • Username should have a minimum of six characters (either numbers or characters or a combination of both) and can have maximum 15 characters. No special characters permitted).

  • An email and sms is received by the candidates with the One Time Password (OTP) to enable their log in if they register successfully.

How to Fill the CUSAT M.Tech Application Form?

Change Password:

  • Candidates must log in using their chosen password and the OTP sent to them.

  • After logging in, the password change prompt appears.

  • Candidates must choose a new password which has at least one number, one special character from (@ # $ % ^ & *), one alphabet and should be at least 8 characters in length.

  • Password should be new and not been used anywhere else.

Page 2- Academic Details: The following points should be kept in mind-

  • Candidates applying for more than one course should select “OTHERS”.

  • Subsidiary Subjects: Graduate candidates should select the subsidiary subjects of their degree correctly from the menu. For more than one subjects, they have to enter the one as main and the other two as subsidiaries.

  • Candidates have to select two exam centres.

Page 3- Upload Photograph & Signature:

Fee Payment: Payment can be made after two working days from the date of filling the application form for CUSAT M.Tech Admission.

Payment through Challan:

  • Candidates have to download the challan available in triplicate and pay the fees in cash at the nearest SBI or SBT Bank.

  • Candidates must sign on the challan before making the payment. 

  • They must ensure that they receive two copies of the challan stamped and signed after payment is done 

  • Candidates must make sure that the journal number and branch code are entered correctly by bank in appropriate space in the challan form before leaving the bank. 

Payment through Internet Banking:

  • After logging in, candidates have to choose "Power Jyothi Fee Collection (PUL) and enter the fee type as printed in the challan and then click "Submit" button.

  • In the "Validation Date" box they have to enter their date of birth as printed in the challan.

  • In the "Fee Reference No." box, they have to enter their registration number as printed in the challan.

  • They must confirm the payment and note down/take a print out of the transaction details for future reference.

Registration Number:

  • A registration number is be generated after submission of the online CUSAT M.Tech Application Form.

  • Candidates must note and safe keep this registration number for future reference.

Printing the final confirmation page of CUSAT M.Tech Application Form:

  • Candidates can print their final CUSAT M.Tech confirmation page two days after payment of the application fees.

  • They need not send any documents to the Cochin University of Science & Technology.

  • Candidates are advised to safe keep the confirmation page and counterfoil of the fee paid challan/debit-slip for their reference.

  • They are advised to print at least three copies of their CUSAT M.Tech confirmation page.

CUSAT M.Tech Application Status:

  • Candidates can check the status of their CUSAT M.Tech Application Form two working days from the date of payment of application fee.

  • If the application is not approved, they should take necessary action(s) as indicated in the approval status page.

CUSAT M.Tech Admission Counselling Details

Counselling of CUSAT M.Tech is held by the Cochin University of Science & Technology in two rounds. The CUSAT M.Tech Counselling is conducted on the basis of valid GATE scores of the applicants. Vacant seats thereafter are filled by the individual departments.

 

CUSAT M.Tech Counselling Procedure is as follows:

1. Option Entry:

Candidates must first login using their user name and password to register for the CUSAT M.Tech Admission.

  • After logging in, they must opt for their registration link and enter their “Keralite” or “Non-Keralite” status.

  • Thereafter candidates must enter their options for courses and colleges/departments.

  • It is to be noted that candidates are allowed to enter as many options as required by adding the options after selection and submission by using the Confirm button.

  • Candidates can edit their choices/options or marks till the last date of option entry as specified by the University.

  • Candidates are advised to take a print out of their options after submission for reference.

  • Candidates must logout every time without fail after completion of their session.

  • For candidates, who fail to exercise any options by the stipulated date, the options entered by them while registering is taken as final.

 2. Seat Allotment:

  • The Seat Allotment is announced in two rounds for the M.Tech aspirants who have registered and applied for the counselling on the basis of the CUSAT M.Tech Rank List.

  • Candidates are issued any call letters.

  • They have to check the schedule and attend the counselling if allotted a seat for document verification, payment of fees and completion of the admission formalities.

  • Candidates must attend the admission in person with their parent or guardian.

3. Registration:

  • Candidates allotted seats must first register themselves for CUSAT M.Tech Counselling at the venue by the specified time.

  • They must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

4. Eligibility Verification: Candidates are required to present the original certificates along with two sets of attested copies.

 

5. Challan generation and Fee Payment:

  • Candidates who have completed their document verification must collect the fee challan.

  • They must pay the prescribed fees at the SBT Counter.

 Payment Modes:

  • Cash

  • A Demand Draft in favour of the Registrar, CUSAT payable at Ernakulam. The Demand Draft must be signed by two authorized bank officials. 

  • Credit/Debit Card facility is available at the counselling/admission venue. Extra service charge as per bank rates is applicable.

  • RTGS funds transfer facility- In the case of RTGS funds transfer, the UTR number is mandatory for effecting payment.

6. Issue of Provisional Admission Letter:

  • Candidates must produce their fee paid challan at the designated counter to obtain their Provisional Admission Letter.

  • The Provisional Admission Letter is a very important document to be kept safely with each candidate as proof of admission till the end of his/her study in the University.

  • Candidates should produce this document as and when demanded.

7. Higher Option Cancellation:

  • After collecting the Provisional Admission Letter, candidates can avail the higher option cancellation facility from the designated counter.  

  • This is in case they wish to confirm the seat they have been allotted and do not wish to consider any higher options entered by them during the option entry.

  • This facility is allowed only once in the whole admission process.
