Some salient features of JEE Main 2014 Application Form:

  • JEE Main 2014 Application Form is completely online. There is no Offline Application Form or downloadable Application Form.

  • Candidates have to upload the scanned copies of their photograph, signature and left thumb impression.

  • Payment of the Application Fees for JEE Main 2014 is through Debit card or Credit Card or E Challan.

  • E-challan has to be downloaded while applying and the payment has to be made in cash at Canara Bank or Syndicate Bank or ICICI bank.


Important Points to Keep in mind:

  • Keep the Photograph, signature and thumb Impression copies ready before applying. The instructions for these are given below.

  • Keep all the information of your Class XII ready (for students who have given their Class XII in 2012 or 2013)

  • Keep your Debit Card or Credit Card ready. Note: For  Payment by Debit or Credit Card, candidates need not fill in the amount. The system automatically gives it as per the exam choice along with the additional charges to be paid.

    Students who pay by E-Challan will have to download the E-challan, make the payment and then enter the details to complete the submission of the application form of JEE main 2014.

  • Keep the Unique Identification Number (UID)/ Aadhaar Number ready if available. This is Optional

  • Candidates can edit all the information before payment of the JEE Main 2014 Application Fees Only
  • .Please take a printout of the confirmation page after submission for future reference and safe keep it.

Photograph Specifications 

  • The photograph may be in colour or black & white (but with clear contrast) and must be taken in a professional studio.

  • Photograph must NOT be taken using a Mobile phone. Self-composed portraits are NOT acceptable.

  • Photograph must be taken in a White or a very light background.

  • The photograph must have the name and date clearly specified at the bottom as given below

  • Please make sure that the face is not be covered by hair of the head, any cloth or any shadow.

  • Photos wearing a CAP are not acceptable.

  • If you normally wear spectacles, ask the photographer to ensure that there is no glare on the glasses Glare can be avoided with a slight downward tilt of the glasses or by removing the glasses for the photo shoot.

  • Only clear glasses are permitted. Photos with Goggles, Coloured Glasses and Sun Glasses are not acceptable.

  • Ask your photo studio to provide the image in a JPEG format on a standard 3.5 cm (width) × 4.5 cm (height) size (350 x 450 pixels).

  • File size should be between 4KB and 100KB.

  • Keep your facial features or hair style as in the photograph until the exam is completed. Please donot change it.

    Note: Candidates are advised to keep at least 10 identical photographs in reserve for use at the time of Entrance examination, Counselling and Admission 

 

Signature Specifications:

  • Please draw a rectangular box of size 7 × 2 cm on an A4 white paper. Put your signature with black or dark blue ink pen within this box.

  • Scan the signature using scanner

  • Save the image in JPEG format. Only JPEG image formats will be accepted.

  • Size of the image should be 3.5cm (width)  x 1.5cm (height)

  • Ensure that the file size is between 1KB and 30 KB.

Thumb Impression Specifications
: JEE Thumb Impression

  • Please draw a rectangular box of size 7 × 2 cm on an A4 white paper

  • Take an ink pad of blue or black colour ONLY.

  • Place your  Thumb (Left for boys & Right for Girls) in it and press to get the ink onto your thumb.

  • Now put the impression of the Thumb (Left for boys & Right for Girls) in the box drawn for the impression.

  • Scan the impression using a scanner.

  • Save the image in JPEG format. Only JPEG image formats will be accepted.

  • Size of the image should be 3.5cm (width) x 1.5cm (height)

  • Ensure that the file size is between 1KB and 30 KB.

1. Examination Details:

Candidates have to enter whether they are appearing for

  • JEE (Main) Paper - 1 (B.E. / B. Tech.)Only

  • JEE (Main) Paper - 2 (B. Arch. / B. Planning) Only

  • JEE (Main) Paper - 1 & Paper –2 Both

Mode of JEE Main 2014 Exam:

Choice of Examination Centre: Candidates have to enter any four centres of their choice. Click here for the list of JEE Main 2014 Exam Centres
Note: Candidates must remember that dates for the Offline and Online exam are different. so candidates who want to write both Paper 1 and 2  must choose can choose an offline centre if they want to appear for the exam on the same day
Candidates who want to appear for the Paper 1 and Paper 2 on different days, will be allowed to choose four centres which are both offline and online exam centres for JEE Main 2014. In such a case the exam centre will be allotted in the same city.
Important: The Computer based Test to be held in Colombo, Kathmandu and Singapore will be only on April 19, 2014.

  • Candidate's Name: Name should be a  Maximum of 46 Characters

  •  Mother's Name:  Name should be a  Maximum of 46 Characters

  •  Father's Name:  Name should be a  Maximum of 46 Characters

  • State of Eligibility: Candidates must enter the  State from where the candidate has passed/appearing in qualifying examination

  • Category: Candidates must enter General/ SC/ ST/ OBC - NCL (Central List)
    Note
    : State list OBC Candidates who are not in OBC – NCL central list must choose General.
    State admission boards shall verify State OBC list separately.

  • Person with Disability (PwD):  Yes/ No

  • If PwD, mention the percentage of disability? : the percentage must be specified

  • Whether you need scribe/reader? Yes/No

  • Date of Birth:  should be filled in (DD/MM/YYYY) format only

  • Gender: Male / Female

  • In case of girl candidate, Are you the only child of your parents? Yes / No

  • Nationality: Candidates must specifiy  Indian / OCI/PIO/ Foreign (Other than OCI,PIO)
    Note:
    (Foreign candidates are not eligible for admission to NITs, IIITs, CFTIs through JEE (Main) Channel)

  • Place of Residence: Candidates must specify  Rural / Urban

  • Complete Mailing Address: Candidates must specify clearly their mailing address

  • Pin code of mailing address: Pin code must be specified

  • Unique Identification Number (UID)/ Aadhaar Number: Candidates can fill this  if available. This is OPTIONAL only.

 

3. Academic Details

  • Year of Passing Class 10th or its Equivalent:  Candidates may choose the years f( 1999-2012) from the list as applicable

  •  Place of 12th class schooling:  Village / Town / City must be specified

  • Year of Passing or Appearing Class 12th / Qualifying Examination: 2012 / 2013 / 2014 (the year applicable must be specified) Note: Candidates from Maharashtra and Odisha please see the eligibility as per their state regulation

  •  School Board of Class 12th / Qualifying Examination: Candidates have to choose their Board from the list

  •  Name of the Qualifying Examination passed/appearing: The exam must be chosen from the list.

  •  Type of Institution of Class 12th / Qualifying Examination: Government / Private

  •  Percentage of Marks obtained in Class 12th / Qualifying Examination (if passed): only for candidates who have passed (As per Marks Statement)

  •  Roll Number of Class 12th /Qualifying Examination (if allotted): Only applicable to candidates who have passed Class XII in 2012 or 2013.

  •  Appearing for Improvement of Class 12th/Qualifying Examination: Yes/ No

  •  Mode of Preparation: Candidates have to specify any one- Self Study / Individual Tuition / Coaching/ Correspondence Courses/Others

  •  Name & Address of the School / College from where passed / appearing: Candidates have to give the contact details and name of their school


4. Contact Details
: Candidates have to specify their contact details

  •  Email Address: Please specify a valid Email ID

  •  Mobile No: Please specify a valid Mobile No in use (10 digits). There is no need for 0 or 91 as a prefix.

  •  Land line no. with STD code or any other contact no.


5. Guardian Details
:

  • Father’s Qualification:  Illiterate / Matriculate / Graduate / Post Graduate / Others

  • Father’s Occupation:  Candidates have to specify any from the below as applicable
    Agriculture/ / Business/ Medical/ Engineering /Law Practice/ Government Service/ Public Sector Service/ Private Service/ Teaching or Research/ Architecture/ Pharmacy/ Self Employment/ Others (including House wife)

  • Father’s Annual Income: Candidates have to specify any from the below if applicable
    Up to 100000
    Rs. 100001 -200000
    Rs. 200001 – 300000

6. Choose Password: Candidates have fill in the particular and choose their password.

The password criteria is as follows:

  • The Password must be 8 to 13 character long.

  • It must have at least one Upper case alphabet.

  • It must have at least one Lower case alphabet.

  • It must have at least one numeric value.

  • It must have at least one special characters eg.!@#$%^&*-


They must re-enter the chosen password

They must choose a security Question (in case of retrieval of password if the candidates forget it)

They must enter the answer to the Security Question Chosen and note it down in case they need to retrieve the password.

DONOT Share the Password with anyone.

7. Security Pin: Candidates have to enter the security pin given on the screen

Note: To Upload Images Click on NEXT OR to reset click the RESET button and re-enter the data.


Upload the Images:

  • After the particulars are filled in, upload the photograph, signature and the left thumb impression as specified at the start of this page

  • To go to the Payment of the Application Fees of JEE Main 2014, Click on NEXT

VERY IMPORTANT: Check the particulars once again. Candidates cannot edit the details once the payment of the JEE Main 2014 application Fees is done

JEE Main 2014 Application Number:

  • Candidates will be allotted the JEE Main 2014 Application number after the details are filled in and the photograph, signature and thumb impression are uploaded.

  • The JEE Main 2014 Application number will also be sent through an SMS at this stage.

  • Candidates can edit or change the details at this stage. If they are unsure, we would advise to log out and pay the fees at a later stage.

  • To pay the JEE Main 2014 Fees or edit the details/ upload the photograph, signature or thumb impression, candidates can log in using the JEE Main 2014 Application Number and the chosen Password.

How to Pay JEE Main 2014 Application Fees
:

By Credit Card: Candidates have to pay additional charges of 1.20% of the examination fee plus the service tax as applicable

By Debit Card: candidates have to pay additional charges of 0.75% of the examination fee plus taxes for examination fee up to Rs. 2000 and 1% + taxes for examination fee more than Rs. 2000.

Through the e-Challan generated after successful submission of the particulars in the online JEE Main 2014 application form.
The application fee may be deposited in cash at any branch of Syndicate Bank, Canara Bank and ICICI Bank

Declaration by the candidate: I hereby declare that all the particulars stated in this application form are true to the best of my knowledge and belief. I have read and understood the JEE procedures for both JEE (Main) and JEE(Advanced) 2014. I shall abide by the terms and conditions thereon.

Computer Based Test Slot booking:

  • After the payment of the fees is over, candidates who have opted for the JEE Main 2014 Online exam have to enter their preferred dates and slots for the exam from the given schedule.

  • Based on the vacancies, the slot will be allotted.

  • Candidates can book the slot before Decmber 26, 2013 else they will be allotted a centre at a date and schedule as random by the system.
