JEE Advanced 2014 is the second stage of the Joint Entrance Examination, the common entrance examination for engineering admissions to the IITs and ISM, Dhanbad. Candidates who clear the JEE Main 2014 only are eligible to attempt the JEE Advanced 2014. Given below are the complete details of JEE Advanced 2014 at a glance.

Chitraang Murdia is the topper of JEE Advanced 2014 and belongs to Rajasthan under IIT Delhi zone. He has secured 334 out of a total of 360 marks.
Aditi from IIT Roorkee zone is the topper amongst female candidates securing an All India Rank of of 7.


There are five female candidates amongst the top 100 rankers.


JEE Advanced 2014 Statistics:
A total of 27,151 candidates out of 1,26,997 registered, have qualified the examination with 19,416 in common merit list as follows:


  • 6000 in OBC (NCL),

  • 4400 SC

  • 1250 ST 

  • 243  PwD candidates

JEE Advanced 2014 Vs 2013:

  • When compared to 2013, 3500 more candidates have qualified in JEE Advanced 2014 with an increase of qualified candidates in all categories.

  • The joint  implementation committee of JEE Advanced 2014 has decided to allow twice the number in each category to fill choices for various undergraduate courses in IITs and ISM Dhanbad.

  • About 19,000 candidates have been shortlisted.

About Exam

The top 1,50,000 qualified students of JEE main 2014 will be shortlisted to appear for the JEE Advanced 2014

Admissions to IITs will be based only on category-wise All India Rank (AIR) in JEE-Advanced 2014 provided such candidates are in the top 20 percentile of their respective boards.

JEE Advanced 2014 Eligibility Criteria:

  • Candidates must qualify in the JEE main and be one of the top 1, 50,000 candidates to appear for the JEE Advanced 2014

  • Age Limit: Candidates must be born on or after October 1, 1989 (SC/ST/PwD candidates must be bron on or after October 1, 1984)

Selection Procedure:  on the basis of the category wise All India Merit Ranks based on the JEE Advanced 2014 scores.

Important: Candidates must be in the top 20 percentile (category wise) in their respective Boards/Qualifying Examinations to be considered for admissions

JEE Advanced 2014 Application Form :

  • Candidates have to register online.

  • After online registration, candidates must pay the examination fee as applicable through challan (generated during registration process) of all SBI branches having core banking solution (CBS)

Application Fees:

  • The examination fee for GE and OBC(NCL) male candidates is Rs.2000.

  • The fee for SC, ST, PD male candidates is Rs. 1000.

  • There is no fee for female candidates of all categories.

  • Candidates appearing from Dubai Centre will have to pay US $ 220.

JEE Advanced 2014 Counselling Process

  • The seats in the various courses of the institutes (IITs and ISM Dhanbad) will be allotted strictly on the basis of the All India Rank of JEE Advanced 2014 , category rank, and the choices indicated by each qualified candidate at the time of counselling. 

  • Other institutes also use the results of JEE (Advanced) - 2014 for admissions to their courses / programmes. The names of the institutes will be announced later. Candidates should contact these institutes directly for admission.
