GATE Admit Card 2017 released on January 4
GATE Admit Card 2017 has been made available by IIT Roorkee, the exam conducting institute, on January 4, one day prior to the earlier announced date. Candidates, who had submitted their application successfully, can now download and print the Admit Card of GATE 2017 from online application interface. It will not be sent by post/email. The admit card is an important document of identity, and it contains details like candidate’s name, date & time of exam, registration number, paper name, exam centre address and exam instructions. It should be ensured that all the entries made therein are correct. Any discrepancy should be brought to the notice of the examination authority.

Candidates must bring a colored printout of the downloaded GATE 2017 Admit Card to test centre along with original and valid photo identification photocopy/scanned copy/invalid or expired identification. No candidate will be allowed to take the test without original and valid photo identification.
Test takers can bring any of the below mentioned identification proofs-
Valid college ID
Employee identification card
Note: It is mandatory to carry that ID proof whose information was mentioned in GATE 2017 Application Form.
For international candidates, only a valid Passport/Government issued ID/College ID/Employee ID will be accepted as the recognized identification.
Candidates should not mutilate the GATE Admit Card 2017 or change the entries, as this will result in cancellation of candidature. It should be kept safely till the admission procedure is over as it will be required for future purposes.

IIT Roorkee will conduct the national level engineering entrance test on February 4, 5, 11 and 12 for PSU recruitment and admissions to M.Tech programmes at IITs and NITs. Every year, more than 8 lakh candidates appear for GATE. In 2016, as many as 9,71,831 candidates applied for the entrance exam, out of which 8,18,850 actually appeared in the test.
