GATE 2017 examinees in dilemma after MPPSC prelims postponed to Feb 12
GATE 2017 aspirants are left in a lurch as the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission rescheduled the date for State public service commission preliminary exam-2017 for February 12, 2017, the same date on which the Graduate Aptitude Test 2017 is scheduled to take place.
Earlier, the state civil service exam was scheduled to take place on February 10, 2017, which falls on Guru Ravidas Jayanti. However, the chairman of the commission reportedly stated that they received request from both the candidate sand the teachers to postpone the exam owing to the Jayanti and hence the decision was taken to postpone it by two days.

The new date of the exam which is February 12, 2017, is clashing with the GATE exam 2017. Since both the exams are taking place on one day, candidates expressed their anguish as they will now be able to take up one exam only.
Meanwhile, the chairman of the MPPSC, stated that it is unlikely that they will be able to postpone the exam further as they have already made all the preparations.
The Graduate Aptitude Exam 2017 was held for 15 papers on February 4 and 5 and the remaining eight papers will be held on February 11 and February 12. The schedule for the remaining GATE 2017 exams is given below in the table:

A number of institutes including IITs, IISc use the GATE score to offer admission to candidates in various master of technology programmes. The GATE exam is conducted in an online mode and it of three hours duration. The exam is of multiple choice questions (MCQ) and the numerical answer type. In all other papers, candidates will have to answer ten questions on General Aptitude and it will be of fifteen marks.
