HAL Recruitment through GATE 2017 - The application form for HAL Recruitment through GATE is now available from January 11, 2017(2.00 PM) according to the latest notification from the PSU. It was earlier announced by HAL that candidates could apply from January 6, 2017 but the dates are now postponed. Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), a Navratna Central Public Sector Undertaking, has announced the recruitment of 125 graduate engineers for the posts of Management Trainee/Design Trainee in the disciplines of Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics and Civil engineering. The shortlisting of candidates will be on the basis of GATE 2017 scores. Candidates can apply online till February 7, 2017. This is the first time HAL is recruiting engineers through the GATE exam. Eligibility Criteria for HAL Recruitment through GATE 2017:
Candidates must be India Nationals
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering / Technology or its equivalent (Full Time) (4 years after 10 +2) from the Institutes / Universities recognized by AICTE
General / OBC-NCL candidates should have secured a minimum of 65% marks while SC/ST/PWD candidates should have secured a minimum of 55% Marks, in aggregate in the qualifying exam
- Final year students are eligible to apply provided they meet the eligibility criteria at the time of Interview. They must however have have obtained the above mentione percentage in aggregate till the last semester.
The upper Age limit should not be above 28 years as on February 7, 2017 for General category candidates. Relaxation as per guidelines

How to fill the application for the HAL Recruitment through GATE 2017:
Candidates must fill their GATE Registration Number as mentioned in their GATE 2016 Admit Card
They must enter their Name and other personal details as mentioned in the GATE 2017 Application Form
They must enter the details of their nationality, category, address.
They must also mention their mobile and Email ID
They must also upload their recent photo with a file size of 180 KB
After submitting the application, a unique HAL Application No will be generated. Candidates must note this down.
Selection Process for HAL Recruitment through GATE
HAL will be utilizing Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2017 results for recruitment of-
(a) Management Trainees in the Disciplines of Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical & Civil
(b) Design Trainees in the Disciplines of Electrical, Electronics & Mechanical.
Only GATE 2017 results will be reckoned for recruitment to the aforesaid posts.
Candidates who qualify in the GATE 2017 examination will be shortlisted for personal interview in the ratio of 1:5 to the number of vacancies in each discipline/post and category based on the GATE 2017 results and requirement.
GATE -2017 scores (marks out of 100) will be reckoned for shortlisting of candidates for the personal interview.
Final selection will be done by assigning the weightage of 85% marks for GATE 2017 Scores (out of 100) and 15% marks for personal interview
Training: Selected candidates will have to undergo a training for 52 weeks.
Pay Scale: During the training period, candidates will draw a Stipend comprising of Basic Pay of Rs. 16400/- plsu alllowances. On successful completion of their training, they shall be absorbed as Engineers in the Grade-II Scale of Pay of Rs. 16,400-40,500/-plus benefits as per the company policy.
Service Agreement Bond: Selected candidates need to execute a service agreement to serve HAL for 5 years failing which they will have to pay the specified costs upto a maximum of Rs.5,00,000.
