JEE Main 2017: CBSE allows Paytm mode of application fee payment

CBSE allows Paytm mode of application fee payment Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has introduced Paytm mode of fee payment for JEE Main 2017 applicants. This is for the first time that CBSE has launched this mode of fee payment. However, while paying the application fee through Paytm, the applicants will be charged 1.50% of the examination fee plus the service tax as applicable. Apart from Paytm payment option, the exam conducting body for JEE Main has also launched another fee payment feature - SBI Buddy wherein the candidates will have to pay Rs.20 per transaction plus service tax as applicable.

According to CBSE officials, “JEE Main 2017 Application Fee may be paid either by credit card/debit card/e-wallet (SBI Buddy/Paytm) or through e-challan generated during the online filling of the application form. In case of e-challan, the payment should be made in the Syndicate/Canara/ICICI/HDFC Bank in cash.”

The officials have also notified that the fee submitted by any other mode like money order, demand draft, IPO etc. will be rejected. Application fee once paid will not be refunded (full or partial) under any circumstances.

 

For admission year 2017-18, the applicants can also calculate their application fee as per their category and mode of paper by clicking on “Calculate Exam Fee” option.

 

JEE Main Application Form 2017 has been released on December 1 in online mode by CBSE. Over 12 lakh candidates had registered for this most sought-after undergraduate engineering exam. JEE Main is the first stage entrance exam for admissions to the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). It is also the gateway to all NITs, IIITs and GFTIs.
