The Commissioner of Entrance Examination (CEE), Kerala has announced the modifications done in the answer key of KEAM 2017 and the new score calculation method. The announcement has been made after the review of complaints received from KEAM candidates. The Expert Committees have examined the KEAM 2017 answer key and the required modifications have been made. Two questions in Chemistry and one question in Physics from Paper 1 as well as four questions in Mathematics from Paper 2 have been deleted. No marks have been awarded to any candidate for these questions irrespective of whether they have answered them or not. The committee has tried to do justice with a change in the score calculation which considers this new development. However students who have wasted their time during the exam trying to answer the questions are an unhappy lot. This is also the reason the committee has deleted the questions and removed them from the purview of KEAM score calculations. Read more to know all the details.

As per the latest information released by CEE, the following modifications have been made in KEAM Answer Key 2017:
KEAM Paper I (Physics & Chemistry) – One question from Physics and two questions from Chemistry have been deleted by the committee. No marks for these three questions were awarded to the candidates. To calculate the total scores, the candidates will have to multiply their score obtained in Chemistry section by (48/46), corrected to four decimal points. Similarly for Physics section, the score obtained has to be multiplied by (72/71), corrected to four decimal points. Finally, both the scores have to be added to obtain the total score of Paper I.
KEAM Paper II (Mathematics) – Four questions from Mathematics have been deleted. The obtained score will have to be multiplied by (120/116) to calculate the final score of the paper. The score has to be corrected to four decimal points.

CEE has provided the above mentioned formula to give proportionate scores based on the obtained marks of the candidate for the questions considered for evaluation (excluding deleted questions) and also to compensate for the loss of scores done by the questions that were deleted.
The candidates who have qualified KEAM 2017 examination will have to submit the obtained marks in their 10+2 qualifying examination for Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry/Computer Science/Biotechnology/Biology in order to prepare the rank list. The facility for submission of marks online will be available from May 25, 2017.
