WBJEE 2017 to be held on April 23; application begins from Jan 5
West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) will conduct WBJEE 2017 on April 23 in offline mode, while the application form will be available online from January 5. The state level entrance exam for admissions to undergraduate engineering programmes will be conducted in 2 separate papers – Paper I & Paper II on the same day. WBJEE 2017 Paper I for Mathematics will be conducted from 11 am to 1 pm, while Paper II (combined for Physics & Chemistry) will be conducted from 2 to 4 pm.
WBJEEB officials announced these dates on December 28 while releasing the information bulletin for WBJEE 2017. The board officials have also declared other important dates related to application availability, admit card and result. However, counselling schedule has not been announced yet.

Aspiring candidates, who wish to seek admission in B.Tech/B.E. programmes across Universities, Government Colleges as well as Self Financing Engineering & Technological Institutes in the State of West Bengal can fill the application form from January 5, 2017. The application form can be filled and submitted online along with the examination fee of ₹500 (plus the bank’s service charges as applicable) and downloading the confirmation page till February 4, 2017.
Candidates can pay the application fee through net-banking/debit card/credit card or by cash through e-challan in any branch of Allahabad Bank. All applicants must note that application fee once paid is not refundable under any circumstances.
On successful completion of all steps involved in application procedure, the candidate shall automatically be directed to the option for downloading and printing of the ‘Confirmation Page’ which itself signifies the completion of online-submission of WBJEE 2017 application form. If the confirmation page is generated by the online portal, this means that the candidate’s application is complete and accepted.
Further, the exam conducting body has also announced that the admit card for candidates, who successfully submit their application form of WBJEE 2017, will be available from April 12, while the results for the state level engineering entrance test will be declared on June 5, 2017.
Over 1.27 lakh candidates appear in WBJEE every year conducted by West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board for admissions to undergraduate engineering programmes across Universities, Government Colleges and Self-financing Engineering & Technological Institutes in the state. As per rough estimates, around 36,263 B.Tech/B.E. seats are available across the engineering colleges in the state.
